You’ve heard about Kiwanis and maybe you’ve been approached to attend a meeting or join the club. You may be asking yourself, “Why should I join?” There are several things to consider as you make your decision. Do you want to be part of an organization that makes a difference locally through programs that:
- funds child safety seat programs,
- has sponsored bicycle safety programs,
- provided assistance with funding the crime watch program in Springfield Township,
- purchased the “jaws of life” for the Greenhills Life Squad,
- has supported local schools with playground equipment, audio testing and glasses?
How do you feel about being part of an international organization that:
- has provided disaster relief for children in the Philippines, El Salvador and the United States,
- established a neonatal unit to care for ill newborn babies in Calcutta, India,
- provided books to more than 20,000 at-risk young children in Alabama,
- funded Medical Journey Projects allowing medical professionals to travel to remote areas of Ecuador to provide medical care to local children?
If you would feel good about being part of an organization that does all those things and builds life-long friendships, develops leadership skills, and allows you to make business contacts then Kiwanis may be a great fit for you.
